Serena Beach Resort and Spa is conveniently situated on the beautiful white sandy beach of Shanzu, just 30 km from Mombasa. Modelled to replicate the twisting lanes and colourful markets of a traditional 13th century Swahili town, this resort is simple but elegant.

The rooms and suites are located in the Village Wing and built in the Swahili style, or in the Garden Wing surrounded by natural vegetation and palm trees. Dine indoors or al-fresco and enjoy splendid panoramic ocean views from the terraces. Families are very welcome and the Family Suites make the ideal accommodation choice.

Overview
Each room and suite has a king-size or twin beds, mosquito curtaining, bathroom with walk-in shower, private veranda/balcony, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, complimentary mineral water and toiletries, hairdryer, safe, minibar.

Village Standard Rooms

Presented in the style of a traditional Swahili Village, the ground floor rooms have a terrace and the upper rooms have a balcony.

Views are of the charming central squares and gardens of the village or the sea.

Garden Rooms

Garden Rooms are located in the garden wing of the hotel and are surrounded by lawns and palm trees and look down across the grounds to the sea.

The en-suite rooms are spacious with queen-size or twin beds. Double doors open out to either a private balcony or a terrace.

Prime Rooms

There are 32 spacious Prime Rooms which have a traditional Swahili style, a balcony and views over the gardens of the hotel.

Family Rooms

Each Family Room has a children's room with twin beds, digital multi-channel TV, internet connectivity and a private bathroom.

Along a short corridor is the adult's room which has a king-size bed, minibar, TV, internet connectivity, access to the twin bathroom and a balcony.

Suites

Zanzibar Suites: Luxurious and spacious with a king-size bed, separate sitting room and terrace.

The Lamu Suites: Situated on the sea front giving these suites fantastic sea views. The Lamu Suites have a double bedroom, separate sitting area and outside terrace.

The Presidential Suite: A private staircase leads to the double doors of the two-level Presidential Suite which has a spacious reception area, private sitting room, master bedroom, large terrace with dining area and al-fresco shower.

There are a number of dining choices at the Serena Beach Resort and Spa including beach-side dining, café areas, coffee shops and bars.

Choose from the Fountain Restaurant, the Jahazi Grill Seafood Restaurant or the Sokoni Terrace Brasserie.

You can also treat yourself to “the bubbly breakfast on the beach” – a private table for two where you can enjoy breakfast, fresh orange juice and sparkling wine.
