Barbados Travel Tips

A moment to remember: Enjoy horse riding with an experienced guide on a picturesque tour of coastline and quaint villages. Swim with Turtles on the West Coast and take a day trip sailing round the beautiful Grenadines, Sunset on the West Coast sipping a cocktail really is a special time!

Tailor-made: A great contrasting Island to combine with Barbados is St Lucia with its lush , natural tropical beauty.

Ideal for: Couples, Families, championship golf, great restaurants, charm and sophistication.

Flying Time | 8 Hours and 30 minutes

Time Difference | GMT -4hrs (Nov-March) -5hrs (Apr-Oct)

Getting There | Direct flights from London Gatwick with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic from London Gatwick and Manchester

Currency| Barbados Dollar (but US Dollars are widely accepted)

Best time to visit| During the wet season from July to November, some brief rain showers are likely. Average sunshine hours per day are eight to 10 from November to March and eight to nine from April to October. Tropical storms and hurricanes may occur between June and November.

Undoubtedly the nation’s favourite Caribbean Island. With its aquamarine waters, sugar-white sands, calypso rhythms and ultra-laid back atmosphere it keeps us Brits returning year after year or maybe it is the fact the sun always shines on Barbados.

A tale of two sides, the platinum west coast is graceful and cosmopolitan and home to some of the world’s most exquisite hotels, finest golf courses, excellent shopping boutiques and distinguished restaurants. The east coast is wild with windswept palms and desolate yellow sands and is a surfer’s paradise.

Barbados has a wide selection of nightlife and restaurants to choose from along with a host of activities for the sports enthusiast from golf to horse racing. It’s hard to find fault in Barbados.
