Melissani Cave

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Kefalonia, Melissani Cave features a lake and forest within the cave itself! At noon time, when the sun is directly overhead, sunlight striking the stunningly blue water creates a magical atmosphere with the whole of the cave lit up with blue light.

Fiscardo Village

This beautiful village is 50 Km north of Argostoli, and is a typical traditional Greek fishing village with plenty of shops, bars and tavernas. The local houses are painted in different colours which adds to the charming ambience of the bay. Nearby there are pebble beaches and interesting coves to discover.

Myrtos Beach

Many travel magazines rate Myrtos beach as one of the best beaches in Greece. It has been awarded several times for its cleanliness and natural beauty. The beach has a back drop of stunning white rocky cliffs which lead down to the sea shore.

More About Kefalonia

Kefalonia is a beautiful island in the Ionian Sea, approximately 30 miles to the west of mainland Greece. A stunning luxury holiday destination with dramatic mountains, pebble and sandy beaches, underground lakes and abundant countryside, it found international fame when used as the film setting for the movie blockbuster Captain Corelli‘s Mandolin. In the southeast of the island lies Skala, with a long beach, plenty of bars and lively nightlife. Fiscardo is on the northern tip of Kefalonia and is most picturesque with colourful fishing boats moored in the harbour, hillsides full of cypress trees and charming waterside restaurants. Lassi is a scenic retreat popular with couples and families as it has great beaches and it's not far from the airport. The island's capital, Argostoli, has an abundance of cafes and bars - perfect for stopping for a spot to eat and drink and watching the world go by. If you fancy a bit of sightseeing, we'd highly recommend the Drogorati Cave, a rare geological phenomenon with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. There's also Melissani Cave where you can see the sky outside while you're in the cave. When the sun is high, the lake in the cave lights up with changing shades of blue - a wonderful photo opportunity! The local food is exceptional with the island producing feta and yellow cheese, olive oil, honey and local meats. Try the fresh seafood and the local speciality of Kreatopita, a baked pastry filled with meats, vegetables and cheese.
