The Amirandes - Fancy discovering some magic in Greece?

Greece has always been something of an iconic destination for me. The place where Mama Mia was filmed, home to Acropolis, party scene for the young and trendy - great food, warm and friendly people but until I started Designer Travel 7 years ago it was a destination that I had never visited! With movie images in my head, lots of experience of booking other people's trips to a variety of islands and the mainland, I didn't quite know where to start when looking for my own holiday. The Amirandes in Greece proved to be the answer to all my prayers. The hotel is a magical hideaway in Crete, close to Gouves and within travelling distance of some of Crete's most famous resorts like Agios Nikolaos and Elounda. From the minute you walk through up the stairs and through the gate like doors you are welcomed into the most warm and friendly environment that you could ever imagine. From the reception team to the staff who will welcome and escort you to your home for the duration of your stay, to the waiting team to the small army of people who look after the grounds and the resort nothing is too much trouble. This is a resort where you can unwind, swim, eat, drink or perhaps enjoy a spa treatment or a swim in the indoor pool. There is an Olympic size outdoor pool with a large sun terrace and a wide range of restaurant options (seven in fact plus a Lagoon Bar). To celebrate a special birthday with friends we ate in The Minotaur restaurant - enjoy fine Italian cuisine and marvel at the Picasso ceramics that you will find on display here. We opted to have half board during our last stay and enjoyed a fine range of meal options each day served in the buffet restaurant - providing the weather is fine (and it usually is) then you can choose to eat inside or dine outside under the stars. One important discovery we made early on during our second visit was the fine cocktails made and served at the Labyrinth Bar - what a perfect way to start an evening (the Mojito's were mighty fine). The Amirandes has a jaw dropping range of accommodation to choose from - from villas with their own pools to various different room types. There are very few party sizes that can't be accommodate here - you just need to talk to us about what accommodation is likely to suit you and your guests.
