Marrakech

Marrakech is my favourite of the up and coming city break destination_blogs. With a flying time of around 3 and a half hours, you will arrive and feel like you have arrived in a different world as there is such a cultural difference to other Europe cities. Don't miss a visit to the hustle and bustle of Jemma el-Fnaa square. Explore the facinating bazaars, leather shops and tanneries in the centre, visit the Saadian Tombs, Baadi Palace and Koutoubia Mosque or take a day trip and head out of town to the show capped Atlas Mountains. For a really authentic experience, you can stay in one of the many riads that are now converted to luxury boutique hotels – most are decorated in traditional colours and rooms are furnished with lovely Moorish fabrics. Some are tucked away in quiet side streets too, giving you a real feel for local life.
