Heritage Awali - Day 5 Part 1

Heritage Awali - Day 5 Part 1

Some sunshine and lots of showers appears to be the order of the day!...so as we while away a few hours on our balcony...this is as good a time as any to tell you about the rooms here.... ... Surrounded by mature and very green gardens, the two and three storey ochre/sienna coloured buildings, with lovely thatched roofs, house the 154 deluxe rooms. Some have sea views and pool views, others look onto the gardens... the 5 senior suites and the villa are on the beachfront.... and all are within easy reach of the restaurants, bars and public areas. Our deluxe room is generously proportioned and well equipped. Continuing the African theme, the furnishings and fabrics are 'earthy' and solid, and the lighting is attractive and subtle. We have tea and coffee making facilities, and a mini bar, stocked daily with soft drinks and bottled water. The TV offers multi lingual channels, and wi-fi is free so it's possible to keep up with what's going on in the world. The bed is huge and very comfy, as is the sofa which becomes a single bed if you have a child sharing your room. The bathroom has 'his and hers' sinks, a massive bath tub and (as you'll know from one of my previous blogs) a fabulous rain shower! Leading off the bathroom, there is a separate loo and a 'walk-in wardrobe and safe. Lastly our generously sized balcony is furnished with a huge day bed, table and chairs...what more could you want?....another bonus for us British is that the sockets are 13 amp UK ...so no adaptors needed!... We are grateful for the provision of an umbrella!
