Coral Reef Barbados

This fabulous colonial style hotel situated on St James Beach and has been run by the O'Hara family for generations.  It has the most wonderful relaxed atmosphere and my partner and I had a complete chill out here and we were thoroughly looked after.  This hotel  has a very low staff turnover and a majority of the waiters have been working for the O'Hara's for many years. Coral Reef has the most magnificent tropical gardens which is the home to many pretty birds and butterflies.  It is an all suite hotel and each suite has the name of a flower. The rooms are beautifully furnished in a typical  elegant Bajan style.  The bathrooms are of a high standard and bath robes are provided.  I have to warn you (much to my partners horror) that non of the suites have televisions which is a good thing.  I totally switched off and relaxed and could not really care what was happening in the rest of the world ! There is a television and computer room in the main reception area. In the grounds of the hotel there are plenty of quiet areas where you lie on luxurious sun beds and there are two swimming pools and an excellent range of facilities to include tennis courts for the more energetic. The hotel has its own private beach which is spotlessly clean and it raked daily. The extremely high  standard of cuisine is renowned and the O'Hara's do a weekly barbecue with an array of fresh fish, lobster and steaks which are cooked to your liking and guests book well in advance for the banquet which also has live entertainment. The evening usually begins with a cocktail party ! I should mention that dress standards are observed at dinner. I can certainly recommend this hotel and without mentioning names, there were at least 3 well known couples staying when were there and just to give you a hint - Top Gear !     The standard of
