Discover Paradise in the South Pacific aboard the Paul Gauguin

The Paul Gauguin is a lovely little liner which navigates the coral-filled, shallow waters of French Polynesia. The ship is based year-round in Tahiti and offers informal and relaxing voyages of between 7 and 15 nights.

Facilities and Special Days Ashore

Most sailings cruise around the Society Islands and Tahiti, with selected voyages calling at the Marquesas, Tonga, and the Cook Islands. Enjoy a treatment at their award-winning luxury spa as the ship sails around the islands.

There is a variety of cabin sizes, from outside rooms with porthole or window, veranda staterooms with 56 sq ft balcony, and suites with large marble bathrooms and tubs.

Entertainment is low-key, with a singer/pianist before dinner in La Palette, and dance music to the ship's band in the Grand Salon. There is a resident troup of Polynesian performers, while La Palette at the top of the ship is transformed into a nightclub for younger couples.

Dining Options

With three relaxed, high standard dining options, guests may dine when and with whom they wish. The three different venues are: the Paris-style L'Etoile serving International and a la carte cuisine, La Veranda, open for indoor/outdoor breakfast and lunch turning into a reservation only French Bistro for dinner, and finally Le Grill which offers casual al fresco poolside dining for breakfast and lunch and South Pacific-inspired cuisine for dinner.

Watersports Marina

?The ship was specifically built for this area and is therefore able to navigate lagoons and other areas that larger ships cannot access. Water sports are a highlight of the Paul Gauguin experience. A retractable onboard Water Sports Marina brings you down to sea level, where you can hop aboard a windsurfer, launch a kayak, water-ski or travel by Zodiac for optional diving adventures - or you may simply wish to swim and enjoy the beautiful clear waters. PG is the only luxury ship in that area that is able to offer PADI certification onboard - classes are at all levels including novice divers.

Enjoy Luxury and pay less

Sailing on the Paul Gauguin you see more and pay a lot less if you were to compare what it costs to visit many of these islands by air, staying at luxury hotels; price comparisons have been?carried out?on packages ex Los Angeles and it would amaze you the difference in cost just visiting three of the islands (not the full itinerary) on a traditional luxury holiday package compared with one of these marvellous cruises.

Exotic Destinations

The 2012 programme will?include Raiatea - once the Royal capital of Polynesia. Bora Bora will also be visited and the Cook Islands will feature more heavily in itineraries than before. Many departures include FREE flights from Los Angeles to join the Paul Gauguin cutting costs considerably for UK clients who will only have to pay their air fare to Los Angeles.

These cruises can successfully be combined with holidays to Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego etc – me for more details

The Paul Gauguin is 19,200 tons carrying 298 guests and 215 crew.
