The famous San Domenico Palace Hotel started life back in the 15th century as a monastery. In the late 19th century, San Domenico Palace was transformed into an hotel by the descendents of its founder.
Today the hotel offers two connected but distinct wings, the monastery area of the hotel surrounding the cloisters and the Grand Hotel wing with spacious, comfortable rooms facing the sea. An enchanting atmosphere prevails in all areas of the hotel from the beautiful restaurants and bars, to the swimming pool with fine views to Mount Etna and the coastline. This hotel is participating in Classic's loyalty scheme.
The hotel offers guests the choice of 105 rooms in total. All bedrooms and suites are furnished to the highest of modern standards, and guests may be assured of wonderful personalised service in the best spirit of genuine Sicilian hospitality. There is a wide variety of hotel rooms to choose from at the San Domenico and these include: -superior twin or doubles with garden views, deluxe rooms with terraces or French balconies, executive grand rooms with terrace, junior suites with terrace, garden twin with bay views and terrace or jacuzzi plus a number of other categories.
All rooms feature air-conditioning, satellite TV, Wi-Fi internet connection, minibar and safe and some of the rooms are interconnecting.
The transfer from Sicily Catania airport to the Hotel San Dominico takes approximately 50 minutes.
